To ensure the implementation of paragraph 1.1.2 of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 8, 2020, № RP-4798 “On Measures for the Comprehensive Socio-Economic Development of the Sokh District of Fergana Region in 2020-2021,” on June 30, 2025, the “Pottery Centre” in Sokh was re-established.
The center was established in collaboration with the Rishtan Ceramics Center. The khokimiyat of Sokh district, the Fergana regional department of the “Hunarmand” association, and Shokirjon Akhmadjonov, the head of the family enterprise “Shokirmingboshi Ceramics” and a young and talented craftsman in the Rishtan ceramics industry, took an active part in the implementation of the project.
By launching its operations:
Initially, 20 young people from Sokh will gain permanent employment.
By the end of 2025, approximately 60 young residents are expected to be employed.
Practical training courses in ceramics will be organized at the center, local youth will be trained in professions, and special attention will be paid to the preservation and development of national craft traditions. It is also planned to supply the manufactured ceramics and pottery products to the domestic and foreign markets.
The “Pottery Center” has not only economic significance but also plays a vital role in increasing the social activity of the youth of the Sokh district, reviving national heritage, and advancing the handicraft sector.The “Pottery Centre” has been rebuilt in Sokh District.
